What I have so far:
  1. My topic
  2. Eleven key terms
  3. Five sources
  4. Seven questions

Today I got really confused about my webliography. I thought that we were supposed to write summaries on the articles once we first found them, not once we have found all of our sites we want to use. I wasted a bunch of time today apparently.

Today I decided to change my topic back to the National Honors Society.
I also created some questions:
  1. How can I convey information to the current tenth graders about NHS?
  2. What are the requirements?
  3. When should I talk to current tenth graders?
  4. How can I make a website about NHS at City High?
  5. What should be on the website?
  6. How are we going to publicize?
  7. What activities could be planned for NHS?

In the beginning of class I looked at the National Honors Society website and found some terms. In addition, I also found more websites that could be beneficial to me later on when working on the project.

So I finally decided on a topic. Since I love photography, and I love to photograph old buildings, I am going to compare old and historical buildings in Pittsburgh and fidn out what makes them historical. Then, I will take pictures of them. Hopefully, I will not change my topic again.

Ms. Savido helped me out the other day in giving me an topic. She suggested that since I am in the National Honors Society, that I plan things and create a website, and help the NHS at City High get on its feet.

I am clueless on which topic I want to choose for my graduation project. I am leaning towards product recall and greenovating buildings. I always found product recall interesting because I don't know how people can manufacture products and not realize that there is something wrong with them until they are already in consumption. I have seen a couple shows on television on how people can make their lives and their houses "greener", and I found it interesting on the different ways that you could help the environment, yet also help yourself in the long run. Then again there's the CSI comparasion between real life and television. Ms. Savido showed the class yesterday different projects that the seniors have done, and one girl did one CSI's on T.V. and what people really think about them and if they are accurately presented. I thought that that would be a good idea. Basically, I am clueless.

My Short List:
  • Photography
  • Real life CSI vs TV CSI
  • Cadavers
  • Product Recall

I am thinking about changing my topic to photography. I love taking pictures and I took a class a couple summers ago on photography. I still need to find out what type of photography I would do, probably digital but I need to think of what I actually want to photograph.

I haven't really gotten anywhere past my thoughts from yesterday. So I basically know what I want to do, now I need to start asking questions: who, what, where, when, and why, in order to find more information on about my topic. I also need to start looking online for different websites about my topic and look at the different television shows that I could use to compile information.

So I know a bunch of people in a medical profession and they are always telling me how they hate to watch any type of medical show on television because they say that what happens on the T.V. isn't what it is actually like. I was thinking of comparing what happens on screen and what happens off screen from the T.V. to real life situations. I could shaddow some people that I know in a medical profession and talk to them about what goes on in their daily activities. Now, I need to find out just what type of medical profession I would want to specify in.

Okay, so I was thinking of maybe doing a project that has to do with a penitentiary or health. I was also thinking that I could do a project on how medical or crime labs are portrayed on television and how it differs from actual life and what people in those actual professions think of what is portrayed on television. I don't know though, it was just a thought.
I still am not sure what I want to choose for my topic yet.
But, I do like:
  • Medical Career Fields
  • Criminal Justice
  • Swimming
  • Horses
  • Tennis
  • Football
  • Hockey
  • Physical Therapy Practices

I think I will maybe do something on Physical Therapy and for part of my project, shadow people ath the UMPC Sports Medicine Center

I am not sure yet what topic I want to choose for my graduation project. However, I do have an interest in criminal justice and medicine so I will probably choose my project from either of those two topics.
